Identifying perpendicular, hypotenuse and base

In a right angled triangle, one angle is a right angle and remaining two's are acute angles. One acute angle can be taken as reference angle.

The side opposite to the right angle is called HYPOTENUSE.
The side opposite to the reference angle is called PERPENDICULAR(Opposite).
The side adjacent to them (remaining side) is BASE(Adjacent).


(Note: Hypotenuse is also the longest side in a right angled triangle.)
